Willy Gnonto wants to end 'disappointing' Leeds season on high

Willy Gnonto says he is ready to play an important role in the finale to a season which has been disappointing for him personally.

But Daniel Farke has felt the need to weight his team selections towards taller and more physical players, restricting 5ft 5in forward Gnonto to just four league starts.

But the Italy international was important from the bench in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final and hopes it allows him to play a decisive part the season's conclusion.

Asked how he felt his campaign had gone, he replied: "I would say disappointing on a personal level.

"I always have high expectation for myself. I wanted to play more, I wanted to help the team more and I felt like it wasn't really possible.

"But we have seven, eight games left and I want to try and help the team as much as I can and hopefully be on the pitch as much as I can too.

"I think everyone can. We don't have too many games left, everyone is in a critical position.

"I think at the start it wasn't realistic we would get to the semi-final but we always had confidence in every game and I feel like we fancy our chances, really.
