Andre on Wolves and working with Rob Edwards

Andre opens up on his time with Wolves, working with Rob Edwards and a tough season.

Andre admits he is ‘really enjoying’ life at Wolves as he urges the club to fight in the remaining seven games of the season.

The Brazilian midfielder signed for £21million in 2024 but his second season at the club is likely to result in relegation to the Championship as Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League.

Andre recently told fans during an online livestream as he played video games that he is happy at Wolves and could see himself staying for years to come.

Now, he has praised Rob Edwards in a club interview and said he is ‘really enjoying’ being at Wolves.

“He’s a top person, firstly,” Andre said of the head coach.

“When he came I was in Brazil as my son was not well, so he sent me a message and this was important. First, you need to be a good person, then be good at work.

“On the pitch he gives me a lot of confidence to play. He says, ‘You are a top player’ so every day we fight, fight, fight.

“I’m very happy working with him, he’s a top gaffer and a top person, and I want to help him a lot. I’ll give all of my life inside the pitch to help him.

“I’m really enjoying my time here at Wolves, I’m enjoying everyone around the club, so it’s good to give back to those who support me.”

Andre has been in fine form of late under Edwards, but previously struggled to match his own standards with below-par performances under previous boss Vitor Pereira.

Wolves now need to win the majority of their final seven matches to have any hope of staying in the Premier League, but the midfielder is focused on taking each game as it comes and the test of West Ham next.

“It’s been a tough season,” he added.

“In this moment it’s difficult to speak, now we have to keep believing and playing.

“We have good games left and in football everything is possible. Keep believing, keep fighting, keeping trying to win the last games.

“We won against Villa and Liverpool, so everything is possible.

“Against West Ham, we won the first game. We need to think game to game, and have confidence to play, confidence to defend – play together and fight.”
