Manchester United will travel to Scandinavia this summer as they prepare for the 2026/27 season. The Reds have spent the last few pre-seasons in the USA with only a couple of matches taking place in Europe. However, this summer's World Cup has forced a rethink.

This summer's pre-season will begin in Helsinki, Finland as United take on Championship club Wrexham. Phil Parkinson's side are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season and will face the Reds on Saturday, July 18. From Finland's capital, United will travel to Norway to take on Rosenborg.

United last played the Norwegian side in their 2024 pre-season tour when a young Reds team lost 1-0 at the Lerkendal Stadium in Trondheim. After that game on Friday, July 24, United will travel to Sweden for two blockbuster matches against elite European clubs.

On Saturday, August 1, United will take on Atletico Madrid in Stockholm. The Snapdragon Cup will be on the line against Diego Simeone's side, who are currently celebrating a 2-0 first-leg Champions League victory over Barcelona. A week later on Saturday, August 8, the Reds will move on to Gothenburg where they will take on Paris Saint-Germain.

Luis Enrique's side are the current holders of the Champions League and are in the driving seat to qualify for this season's semi-finals after beating Liverpool 2-0 in their quarter-final first leg.

On Wednesday, August 12, the Reds will take on bitter rivals Leeds at Croke Park in Dublin. On that fixture, Bryan Mbeumo said this week: "Playing Leeds is a big rivalry for the club, it’s gonna be good to play this kind of games especially in this historic stadium and big stadium.

"We have a big community of fans here. We’re very excited."

The new Premier League season will start on August 22. Here are the confirmed details of United's pre-season schedule:

Saturday, July 18 - Wrexham in Helsinki, Finland - 6pm local time, 4pm in the UK

Friday, July 24 - Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway - 6pm local time, 5pm in the UK
