Leeds United's FA Cup success will have no bearing on the future of manager Daniel Farke. Farke has guided Leeds to the semi finals for the first time in almost four decades.

Leeds will take on Chelsea for a place in the final, with Leeds not having made it to the showpiece game since winning the FA Cup in 1972. The cup run has provided a welcome distraction from the relegation battle Leeds find themselves in. Not to mention handed a boost to Farke's managerial credentials.

But it's understood Leeds bosses will come to a decision on Farke's future based only on whether or not his team survive in the top flight.

Farke, whose current contract will enter its final 12 months in June, is set to hold talks with Leeds owners following the end of the season.

Leeds are open to keeping Farke if he keeps them up - and would hand him a new deal, provided he wanted to remain at Elland Road.

Leeds are currently 15th in the table, four points above the drop zone with seven league games remaining.

Meanwhile reports have claimed Ao Tanaka is open to leaving Leeds this summer.

Tanaka joined Leeds from Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2024 for just £2.9m - and has gone on to establish himself as a hugely popular figure with fans. But he has struggled to hold down a regular place in Farke's starting XI this season, and is said to be considering his options.

Several German clubs have shown interest in him, although the midfielder would prefer to remain in the Premier League.

If Leeds decide to sell Tanaka, the club would demand a fee in the region of £12m.
