Leeds United 'looking to cash in' on 29-year-old in the summer transfer window

Leeds United are reportedly looking to cash in on winger Jack Harrison this summer.

The 29-year-old first arrived at Leeds back in 2018, sealing a loan switch from Manchester City after a brief stint at Middlesbrough.

He went on to spend three consecutive seasons on loan at Elland Road before his move was finally made permanent in 2021.

When Leeds were relegated from the Premier League in 2023, Harrison left for Everton and spent two years on loan with the Toffees.

Leeds United’s plan for Jack Harrison

According to former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers scout Mick Brown, Leeds will look to find a new permanent home for Harrison this summer.

He told Football Insider: “Leeds are looking to cash in on Jack Harrison. There’s been a definite desire to do that deal over the last couple of years and they’ve struggled to find any permanent buyers for him.

“He went to Everton and was in and out of the team there, he promised a bit in some games and in other games he never managed to have a kick.

“Now he’s gone to Fiorentina and he’s not been able to establish himself there, I don’t expect they’ll be looking to sign him permanently so he’ll go back to Leeds.

“But he’s not part of the plans there, so if they can find a buyer for him at the right price, they’ll want to let him go and they can use that money elsewhere.”

Jack Harrison’s future

When firing on all cylinders, Harrison is undeniably a handful for defenders. He possesses the raw attributes required to be a threat yet has struggled to find consistency over the years.

Earlier this month, in an interview with FourFourTwo, Harrison alluded to the possibility of his future being away from Elland Road.

He said: “Coming out here has opened my mind to a lot more possibilities, just being open and adaptable to go anywhere and to find that happiness. That's a key thing for me.

“If I want to be playing at my best – which contributes a lot towards happiness as well – I have to be somewhere where it's the best thing for my happiness as well. Finding that place would be incredible. Wherever that is, I'm not quite sure, but I'm open to possibilities.”
