Leeds United show strong interest in 6ft 5in World Cup-bound forward - report

Leeds United reportedly hold a strong interest in Borussia Mönchengladbach marksman Haris Tabaković.

The 31-year-old is currently on loan at Borussia-Park from Hoffenheim and has registered 13 goals in 30 appearances this season.

Not only has the seasoned frontman shone in the Bundesliga, he has helped Bosnia and Herzegovina book a place at this summer’s World Cup.

It appears the 6ft 5in attacker’s exploits have attracted admirers - and Leeds are said to be amonhem.

Leeds United linked with Bundesliga frontman

According to German outlet BILD, Leeds have a strong interest in Tabaković.

Leeds have monitored the German market closely in recent years and Whites boss Daniel Farke counts Mönchengladbach among his former employers.

Despite speculation, Tabaković has remained coy regarding his future. When quizzed over his future at Mönchengladbach, he said: “There are no talks [over a longer-term stay], that's all there is to say.

“For me, the only thing that matters now is giving everything for the club in the last six games, and then I'm looking forward to the World Cup.

“I'm the kind of guy who always lives in the present and approaches things positively, taking them as they come. That means I'll be with Hoffenheim for another year after this season."

Leeds United seemingly keen on bolstering frontline

Leeds appear to be keen on strengthening their frontline when the curtain comes down on the 2025/26 campaign.

The rumour mill always intensifies at this time of year but it has been noticeable how many forwards are being reported as potential targets for the Whites.

Tabaković is the latest name to have been thrown in the mix and he certainly fits the mould for Farke’s system.

Leeds’ manager has shown a preference for physical forwards and Tabaković, like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, is a strong presence to have at the top end of the pitch.
