'Opened the door': £67m Liverpool star could leave Anfield this summer with talks already underway

Alisson Becker is reportedly attracting serious interest from Juventus, with the Serie A side exploring whether a deal can be struck this summer despite his recent Liverpool extension.

The Brazilian’s future has come back into focus after the Reds moved to extend his contract by 12 months, a decision that appears to protect his value rather than shut the door on a transfer.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims Juventus have made encouraging progress in talks around a three-year deal and believe there is room to move. The suggestion is that Alisson is not dismissing the idea and is open to a return to Italy.

Juventus have received positive signals from Alisson Becker

Juventus have eyed Alisson for a while now, seeing him as an experienced upgrade in goal and a player who could bring pedigree and reliability to a key position.

The report claims contact with his camp has been ‘positive’, with the Brazilian described as ‘intrigued’ by the possibility of one more spell in Serie A after his previous time at Roma.

Alisson’s recent contract extension with Liverpool does not appear to have ended that conversation.

Instead, it seemingly leaves the club in a position where they can command a fee rather than risk losing him for nothing further down the line, especially with Giorgi Mamardashvili viewed as the long-term choice between the posts at Anfield.

As for the price, GOAL report that Liverpool would want £13-17 million to let Alisson go.

Liverpool should not stand in Alisson Becker’s way

Alisson has nothing left to prove at Liverpool. Since arriving in 2018, he has been central to one of the most successful periods in the club’s modern history, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Club World Cup while consistently setting the standard for elite goalkeeping.

He’s inarguably one of the most important signings of the Klopp era.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will be watching closely…

At 33, and with every major honour secured, it is understandable if he feels the pull of a different challenge, particularly one that guarantees a starting role.

If he is open to the move, the club shouldn’t resist.

Liverpool have already begun planning for the future in that position, but would need to line up a strong number two to replace him in the summer if that is how it goes.
