The Clarets look to spark what looks a highly unlikely push for survival with three points against the Seagulls on Saturday (3pm).
Albion enjoyed a 2-0 home win in the first meeting between the sides, which came as some relief during their own tough mid-season.
The game was notable for Pascal Gross’s return as substitute after goals from Georginio Rutter and Yasin Ayari had put the hosts in charge.
Speaking ahead of the return fixture, Clarets boss Scott Parker said: “Brighton was a game where we were second best for a lot of it and we didn't leave anything on them in any sense and probably never felt that they were in a game.
“We definitely can't have that performance at the weekend.”
Albion have won four of their last five games and Parker has been impressed by their efforts under the guidance of Fabian Hurzeler.
He said: “This is a team that over the last six, seven years have consistently played that way really and you can see that.
“So a brilliant coach at this moment who's coming off a very good run and had a very good season.
“Big quality in their team and I think we've seen that over this year and certainly seen it in their last fixtures.
“So a good side, which we're going to need to be fully prepared for.”
Burnley centre-back Josh Laurent is banned after being sent off at Fulham going into the three-week break.
His fellow defender Axel Tuanzebe is being assessed having played, and scored the winner, for Jamaica in their World Cup qualifying play-off with DR Congo in Mexico.
