James Tarkowski has admitted Frank Lampard taught him a new style of football during his time at Everton.
The Everton captain now finds himself battling for European qualification under David Moyes.
However, it has not been an easy ride for the centre-back on Merseyside, having already played under three different permanent managers.

Lampard was the man to bring Tarkowski to the club, and the 33-year-old has claimed he owes a lot to the current Coventry City boss.

Tarkowski has previously waxed lyrical about Sean Dyche, who he has played under at both Everton and Burnley.
But he has also admitted he really enjoyed playing under Lampard, despite the difficult circumstances on Merseyside.

“I loved working under Frank. It was a new experience for me with a coach who was going to help me play a different style from what I had been taught and learned in previous years,” he said on Everton’s YouTube channel.
“It didn’t quite work out, which was a shame because I did enjoy my time under Frank.”
Tarkowski only got to play 22 times under Lampard, but he did play every single minute of Premier League football of Lampard’s remaining tenure after being signed.
Moyes rates Tarkowski incredibly highly as he continues to act as the on-field captain amid Seamus Coleman’s lack of minutes.
This is something that has been valued by all three of the Everton managers to work with the 33-year-old defender.
Lampard’s time on Merseyside was fairly short and came under difficult circumstances.
However, their paths could cross again next season, as Lampard looks set to earn promotion with Coventry to the Premier League.
