Andy Robertson has thanked the Liverpool supporters for standing by him from the very first day after announcing his exit from the club.
The Scot will depart at the end of the campaign after nine fantastic years as a Red, with trophies and memories to last a lifetime.
It all began on an August day in 2017, when Robertson made his first ever appearance for Liverpool, and as he turned in a performance which was a sign of things to come, he has recalled how the Kop sung his name in a scarcely believable moment.

Robertson rewinds back to the beginning
Robertson did not initially begin his time at Liverpool as the first-choice left-back, with Alberto Moreno standing in his way.
As a result, Jurgen Klopp eased him into action, giving him time to get to grips with life with the Reds. Nevertheless, his debut was an excellent one, and as he recalled for Liverpoolfc.com on Thursday evening, he felt the love from the crowd almost immediately.
“The fans have always taken to me,” he said. “I always remember my debut against Crystal Palace when I was a relative nobody – obviously signing from Hull City, only £8 million.
“I played my debut and already the Kop had sung my name. It was a moment I couldn’t quite believe. Then the next three months I’m not seen again, which I remind Jurgen of quite a lot!”

“Then obviously when I found my chance, that’s what kept me going in that time and when I got my chance I just wanted to make the people within this club and the supporters proud of the left-back they’re seeing performing week in, week out.
“They have been outstanding with me, unbelievable with me. Always supported me, always been so positive about me. I couldn’t have asked for a better fan base.”
With Robertson always committed and completely devoted to the cause at Liverpool, it has been easy for supporters to be on his side.
From the first day to the last, he has been a credit to himself and the football club, and he will go down forever as a true Liverpool legend.
