Manchester United are finally set to be back in action on Monday night, and ahead of the game, Michael Carrick has been discussed by opposition manager Daniel Farke.
In the last week, Manchester United have been soft-launching Michael Carrick as the next permanent head coach, with the media duties in Ireland suggesting he is the clear front-runner.
This is for good reason, as Carrick has United in touching distance of Champions League football, with the club comfortably positioned to go on and finish third.
There is still work for Carrick to do, but ahead of facing Leeds, Daniel Farke has heaped praise on his opponent come Monday night.

Daniel Farke gives backing to Michael Carrick
Carrick has been endorsed by United players already this season, and now his direct opponent on Monday night has added to this.
Sky Sports journalist Danyal Khan has shared quotes from Farke on X – in which the Leeds boss heaped praise on Carrick.
“Michael has played top, top level – played with work class players, won trophies – experience has helped, always liked his work.

“Once we crossed paths at Middlesbrough, his teams play with confidence, offensive movements – give them a lot of freedom, offensive-minded – suits a team with many top players and players full of potential, no coincidence he’s had top results.”
Farke has spoken glowingly about Carrick, having faced him before which makes the praise even more impressive and meaningful.

Ruben Amorim failed Farke test where Michael Carrick must succeed
In this season’s first meeting with Leeds, Ruben Amorim met his end as United head coach thanks to his now infamous outburst and the fact it was only a 1-1 draw managed.
Now, in the return leg, Carrick needs success for United to take a step toward Champions League football, and begin to nail down his place as the clear option for next permanent boss. Victory could put United 10 points clear of Chelsea in sixth, so it could be a vital came for Carrick and the Red Devils.
Facing Farke’s Leeds is no easy feat as Amorim proved, however, Carrick will be confident after a 24 day break which he believes will serve United well.
By beating a manager like Farke, Carrick would answer another question around his abilities, pushing him closer to getting the job.
