After three weeks without a game, the Clarets are back on Turf Moor on Saturday looking to claim a much-needed and long-overdue three points in their bid for survival.
A dismal run of just one win in 22 league games, and a home record that hasn’t seen them pick up three points at Turf Moor since October, has left them 10 points adrift of safety.
But with seven games still to go and 21 points still to play for, Parker admits time is rapidly running out for his side.
“It's definitely beginning to change, we can't deny that,” he said.
“Of course, the longer you go on and every game that skips away that you don't manage to pick up those points, that challenge becomes much more bigger.
“I've reiterated many times here, this challenge, what was here this year, was here at the start of the season and it is here now.

“But there's 21 points to play for and fundamentally this group, in terms of us fighting every game now, in terms of us trying to gain points to see where we can get, that's exactly it now.
“Regarding the pressure and the situation we're in, it's clearly there and we can't deny that and we totally understand that. At times this year, there's been many reasons.
“We've obviously not picked up enough points and that's very clear and there's been many reasons for that. But like I said, there's seven games left, seven big games for us.

“We're going to the weekend's game, hoping now to go and put in a brilliant performance and win the game because that's where we are now.
“We're in a position now where we've got to try and approach every game and win it. That's probably been very different at certain moments throughout the season, when maybe you're looking to try and get momentum in certain things.
“While of course we'll always put huge respect in this division against the opposition we're playing against, and one being the weekend is a very good opposition, we're going into it to try and get three points in this because that's exactly what we need.”
When asked if Saturday’s clash against Brighton is as close to a must win as it gets, Parker replied: “I think it's been like that for the last few weeks.
“Fulham was that and the last few weeks it has felt like that, because we're not silly and the players aren't and us as a group understand that.
“So is it a must win? We're getting to that point aren't we? I think that's really clear and it's a home game, so we need to go and give the best version of ourselves.
“We need to give ourselves every opportunity to try and gain three points against a very good side.”
