Liverpool have reportedly been urged to consider appointing a former Chelsea manager as a long-term solution should pressure continue to mount on Arne Slot.
Recent performances have intensified scrutiny around Slot’s position, with some voices suggesting the Reds may need a specialist rebuild coach capable of reshaping the squad and restoring consistency.
In Liverpool’s last two games against Man City and PSG, they have conceded six goals with zero in reply.
Former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been highlighted as the “perfect” candidate to guide Liverpool through a transitional period.

Speaking to Hajper, World Cup winner with Italy former Inter Milan defender Marco Materazz said: “Can Enzo Maresca make Real Madrid into champions again? Yes, why not! He speaks very good Spanish because he was at Sevilla, but I think Maresca also has a good opportunity to get a job in the Premier League for next season too.
“Newcastle United? Not for me. Manchester United would be a good move for Maresca but he’s too connected to Manchester City to make that happen.
“I think Liverpool would be the best fit for Enzo Maresca. He is the perfect coach to lead a rebuild at Liverpool to create a new vision for the team.”
While Slot only took charge last season and won the Premier League at the first try, continued setbacks have sparked debate about whether a different managerial profile might be better suited to the club’s current circumstances and problems.
PSG shows signs of panic with PSG tactical decision that backfired
Following the 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final, Slot had to prepare for a Champions League quarter-final first leg in Paris against the Champions of Europe.

Luis Enrique is one of the best tacticians in the world, but his side has on occasion struggled against teams that deploy five-at-the-back systems.
The main problem with Slot deciding to go with three centre backs and wing backs against PSG is he only had two days of training to prepare his team to use this system against the best ball-playing team in the world.
The result was unsurprisingly that PSG dominated the living daylights out of the Reds, with 74% possession and nearly 500 more passes in 90 minutes.
Slot’s tactical choice represents a major moment of panic as FSG’s review of his second season at Anfield looms large.
The decision to sack him at the end of the season is becoming more and more inevitable with each passing game, with Liverpool in severe regression.
