Steve Bull: Wolves must start well in huge West Ham clash

Published10th Apr 2026, 08:00 BST

It’s a big game for both sides as Wolves travel to face West Ham tonight.

Every single game until the end of the season is important and if we want to pull off a miracle, we probably have to win all seven matches - and it starts against our old mate Nuno.

He is a brilliant man, was a brilliant manager for us and I was sorry to see him go, but he moved on to pastures new and we now have a young manager in Rob Edwards who can hopefully emulate what Nuno did for our club.

West Ham will see the game as a must-win, while Wolves finally need to win away from home.

It doesn’t matter if you’re top or bottom of the league, you want to win every game and we will have to start well tonight, as West Ham are a decent side.

They went into extra-time in the FA Cup against Leeds at the weekend and some from a Wolves side may have welcomed that added fatigue, but we haven’t played for 25 days and I’d rather have played recently than have a big break.

I hope we don’t come back too rusty and Edwards has them on the front foot.

We can’t afford to keep going behind in games and fighting back to get a draw, we have to start well.

It will be a tough game in a strange atmosphere, but we have to take the game to them because the Wolves fans will travel in their thousands again.

Although relegation is likely, the door is still ajar and until it’s shut, we have to keep going.

Give it everything, leave no stone unturned and either play well for your future at Wolves or play well to leave.

April is a big month with favourable fixtures and we have to attack every single one.

But I wish we had another seven or eight games added on to the season, because I think we’d have a really good chance of staying up.

It’s a learning curve for Edwards and the players, and until we door is completely shut, we have to keep giving 100 per cent.
