The Anfield side are on the brink of Champions League elimination following Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, after which Slot admitted his team are in ‘survival mode’.
While there is growing expectation that Slot could eventually be dismissed at the end of the campaign, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group are confident the Dutchman will remain in charge for his third season on Merseyside.
Slot led Liverpool to their second-ever Premier League title last term. Almost 12 months later, the Reds find themselves fifth in the standings, 21 points off leaders Arsenal.

Before the season, Liverpool oversaw an unprecedented summer of spending, splashing out over £450m on new signings, including breaking their transfer record twice for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
According to The Telegraph, Liverpool chiefs believe Slot deserves four transfer windows before a judgement is made, and the Dutch tactician remains fully involved in recruitment plans for the summer.

The availability of both Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard has only intensified pressure on Slot in recent weeks, as both are seen as potential candidates to succeed the Dutchman in the event of his dismissal.
According to reports, Alonso’s agent, Inaki Ibanez, was in attendance for Liverpool’s clash against PSG on Wednesday, although the reasoning behind that remains unclear.
Alonso, who left his role as Real Madrid manager in January, is believed to be open to making the move to Liverpool if Slot ends up losing his Anfield hotseat.
