**When you’re really under pressure, like Arne Slot currently is at [Liverpool](https://sportwitness.co.uk/category/premier-league/liverpool/), then every aspect of your job is under scrutiny. And, that includes how you look.**
English fans are well accustomed to the sight of a manager under pressure suddenly appearing haggard, tired, unshaven or simply like he’s had enough.
For Dutch journalist René van der Gijp, though, there’s another issue for Slot at Liverpool; the way he’s currently dressing.
Casual in France
----------------
Van der Gijp was watching like everyone else as Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week.
While the performance on the pitch was a concerning one with Liverpool dominated throughout and lucky not to concede more, it seems the journalist was distracted by something else entirely.
He was unimpressed by how Arne Slot had dressed himself for the game. It’s something he’s seen before from the Dutch coach and called him out on it.
“He stood there like a swimming instructor,” [Voetbal Primeur report him saying.](https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuws/2076412/driessen-slot-krijgt-nog-twee-wedstrijden.html)
“His first match at Feyenoord, he was wearing a T-shirt then too. And at the next press conference I was there and I said: You shouldn’t wear a T-shirt, because the Feyenoord coach standing on the sidelines in a Zeeman shirt just isn’t acceptable.”
Slot agreed with Driessen on that point. “But now he’s wearing that Zeeman shirt again, so the man has completely lost his way.”
“Cannot afford to lose”
-----------------------
For fellow journalist Valentijn Driessen, time is now running out for Arne Slot at Liverpool. In fact, he thinks the Dutch coach has two games to save his job at Anfield.
“He has two more matches,” he added.
“He faces Bournemouth now, which he cannot afford to lose. And he has to be eliminated in a reasonable manner against Paris Saint-Germain.
“I have to say, I saw him in that little T-shirt and that is not good. He is the manager of Liverpool.”
