Frank Lampard has just one injury doubt ahead of what could be a huge day in Coventry City’s modern day history, knowing that victory will see them all but mathematically promoted back to the Premier League.
The Sky Blues boss has confirmed that striker Brandon Thomas-Asante and centre-half Bobby Thomas are both back in full training and available for selection after sitting out recent games with their respective hamstring and shin injuries.
However, winger Tatsuhiro Sakamoto is a doubt for Saturday’s CBS Arena clash with bottom club Sheffield Wednesday after suffering damage to his ribs in Easter Monday’s goalless draw at Hull.

Asked about the in-form Japanese wide man, the head coach admitted: Yeah, Tats took a bang on his ribs so we’ll see for tomorrow.”
As for Thomas-Asante, who has missed the Easter programme after feeling his hamstring and having to go off in the game at Swansea before the international break, and Thomas, who sat out Monday’s match with a sore shin following Good Friday’s victory over Derby County, Lampard said: “Brandon’s back in contention, as is Bobby.”
The City boss, meanwhile, is refusing to get too carried away with Wednesday’s plight which suggests for many, on paper, that three points are a given tomorrow lunchtime. The Owls, who are already relegated, have won just one game all season, having not felt victory since last September.
But Lampard warned: “This game isn’t going to be all our own way just because of their league position. But if we can do our thing then we can make the game feel like we want it to, but they are not coming here with any passive nature, from what I have seen of them.
“We’re just focused and it’s been a good experience for me this week to watch a lot of Sheffield Wednesday because we’ve had a bit of a run into this game and you could easily be drawn to the fact that they’re not winning so many games and it’s a tough situation around a football club.
“But what has really impressed me watching them is how they’re going, how the manager is keeping his energy, how the team are running and fighting for him regardless of results. So I just want to say it out loud, because I think that’s credit to them, but also for us and our fans and everybody how we approach this game.
“Don’t expect Sheffield Wednesday to come and roll over or sit in a low block. They can be aggressive off the ball, they can have transitions in the game. They’ve got some good players who’ve been around the league. So absolutely, we focus on the game because it’s only going to be a good one for us if we take it by a scruff of the neck, so that’s what we need to do.”
