Just in: Tottenham in pole position to sign Liverpool star this summer - David Ornstein

Tottenham are in pole position to sign Liverpool defender Andy Robertson if they retain their Premier League status, according to David Ornstein.

Spurs were one of the sides showing an interest in signing Robertson during the previous January transfer window, before Liverpool opted against allowing him to depart.

With the Scottish international out of contract in the summer, Robertson will be able to sign for a new club for free, and Liverpool have now confirmed that he won't be extending his stay on Merseyside.

Robertson will now have his pick of a host of clubs later this year, as he searches for a new challenge at the age of 32.

It remains to be seen where Robertson will end up, but one of Liverpool's Premier League rivals are already leading the race to secure his signature.
