Newcastle United have yet more injury concerns heading into their Premier League game at Crystal Palace on Sunday.
For the first time since that dreadful defeat to Sunderland, Eddie Howe’s side are back in action when Newcastle United play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

There will need to be some kind of reaction to what happened in the Tyne-Wear derby, though fans could be forgiven for having a degree of apathy towards this team right now.
Still, there’s a game to be won and Newcastle United are still hoping to qualify for Europe.

Newcastle United predicted XI vs Crystal Palace
Howe does not have too many options right now, despite the Premier League having a three-week break.
Bruno Guimaraes will miss the next two games after suffering with mumps, while Fabian Schar is likely to miss around a month after undergoing an operation on an infection in his foot.

Lewis Miley, however, should return after a lengthy absence.

Newcastle United confirmed team news vs Crystal Palace
On Guimaraes, Howe said: “Bruno suffered, as probably the majority know, from mumps on his return from Brazil. That’s delayed his return, so he will not be involved in this game.
“I think there’s probably a doubt over the Bournemouth game as well for him – no injury concern, more just the illness stopped him doing some key work that we needed him to do to be considered for these games.”
When speaking about Schar, he added: “Fabian, unfortunately, suffered an infection in his foot so he’s been in hospital having a very small operation to get that cleaned out. He won’t return for around a month, we think, so that’s bad news on him.”
In terms of Miley, the Newcastle United manager said: “Lewy’s trained and trained well with us so that’s a great thing for us to see because we’ve missed him massively.”
Emil Krafth is unlikely to play again this season after knee surgery.
According to Craig Hope, Sven Botman could be available after suffering a facial injury in the defeat to Sunderland, but may need to wear a mask.
In any case, it would not be a surprise to see Malick Thiaw and Dan Burn start in central defence.
