Régis Le Bris issues major Sunderland injury update with Robin Roefs and Dan Ballard latest

Sunderland are back in Premier League action when they face Spurs on Sunday

Régis Le Bris has confirmed that Robin Roefs will be fit to return when Sunderland face Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

Roefs has been absent since the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in late February with a hamstring injury, but the goalkeeper returned to training this week. Le Bris also confirmed that Simon Moore has picked up an injury and won’t be available for the game having suffered a broken hand.

Dan Ballard remains absent with a hamstring injury but Le Bris hinted that he could be back to face Aston Villa next Sunday. Winger Nilson Angulo also has a chance of being back in contention for this game.

“For the players, we have Jocelin Ta Bi, Romaine Mundle, Bertrand Traoré and Simon Moore sidelined for this game,” Le Bris said.

“For Ballard and Nilson, they are close to returning back but it will be a bit short for Tottenham. For the rest of the group, they are available.”

Le Bris also confirmed that Nordi Mukiele, Enzo Le Fée and Reinildo are in contention to start after returning to the squad at St James’ Park before the recent break.

“They are all ready to start,” Le Bris said.

“They’re ready physically to compete in the Premier League.”
