Eddie Howe will likely be in charge of Newcastle United next season – according to Craig Hope.
Howe’s long-term future at Newcastle has been cast into doubt following a difficult season for the club, with a challenge awaiting this summer.
Hard choice – but who are you selling if you were in charge? 🤔

Indeed, Newcastle are expected to sell players this summer as they rebuild again. It certainly feels as if this team are at the end of a cycle.
However, Howe is excited about the idea of rebuilding the Newcastle squad, and Hope believes he will be given time to do so.
Howe likely to be in charge of Newcastle United next season
Speaking on a video posted on YouTube, The Daily Mail journalist said: “Do I think Eddie Howe will be manager next season? Yes, I probably think he will be. He wants to be, this isn’t a case of his commitment wavering or him looking elsewhere to England or Man United or Man City or anything like that.
“He wants it to work here. He loves the football club, he’s absolutely committed, he’s putting everything he possibly can now into plans for next season.”
It is also worth mentioning that earlier in the video, Hope said there is some doubt over his long-term future.

It does not seem as if Howe is heading for an imminent exit, but that the sheer scale of the rebuild awaiting the club means that a lot of things are up in the air.

Howe is Newcastle’s best manager in the modern era, but his standing in the dugout is proving divisive.
No one should tell fans how to feel but Newcastle’s stance on Howe is important.
If PIF really do deem him the man to lead them into the next phase of this project, then all the cards must be on the table.
They need to act decisively if they do need to sell players and then replace them adequately.

Last summer was a mess for Newcastle and it has surely cost them a season of progress. That cannot happen again.
Those wanting a change do have a point, of course. It does feel as if Howe has run out of steam, and last summer’s recruitment is a poor reflection on him.
This summer feels like make-or-break. If PIF think he’s the right man, it’s time to follow through and back him.
