Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

Liverpool are ‘hovering’ around Aston Villa talisman Morgan Rogers, reports suggest.

Rogers has been Villa’s standout performer in the pursuit for Champions League qualification and Europa League glory this season. The forward has recorded 10 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances.

Certainly, Rogers will have suitors heading into the summer transfer window. Should Villa miss out on Champions League qualification - they are currently fourth in the Premier League table - then they may require to sell one of their prized assets.

According to The Telegraph, Premier League leaders Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are keen as well as European Cup holders Paris-Saint Germain and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. It is suggested that Liverpool have shown an interest but are ‘prioritising other areas’ of their squad. It is said that Villa would look to bank at least in excess of £80 million.

Rogers primarily operates in the No.10 position and Liverpool splashed out £100 million on Florian Wirtz last summer. Rogers can play on both flanks, though, and those are areas that Liverpool are expected to strengthen.

Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a nine-year stay. Replacing Salah, who is third on the Anfield all-time top goalscoring charts, will be a priority for Liverpool. Although the Egypt international has struggled this campaign, a top-class replacement is required. The Reds have Red Bull Leipzig’s Yan Diomande on their radar. Michael Olise, of Bayern Munich, would be a dream target for plenty of supporters but it is highly unlikely that the German club would agree to a sale.

In addition, Liverpool may look to add a left-sided winger, having felt the loss of Luis Diaz since his exit to Bayern Munich. Cody Gakpo is another Reds forward who has endured a difficult campaign, while Florian Wirtz’s preferred role is in the No.10 position.

Centre-midfield and right-back could also be bolstered and Liverpool may look to find a new left-back now Andy Robertson has revealed he will leave at the end of his contract.
