Manchester United are close to returning to action after a ridiculously long break.
Michael Carrick’s selection dilemmas for Manchester United’s clash with Leeds remain as difficult as ever, despite the 24-day break.
If anything it’s tougher, with his squad of players desperate to play, and some of them fully rested after skipping or missing out on international duty.
We have picked out three decisions that will be giving Carrick a selection headache.

Benjamin Sesko: In or out?
Benjamin Sesko has been a ‘super sub’ for Manchester United in recent weeks, although has been used occasionally as a starter.
Sesko’s direct approach could be useful against a physical Leeds defence, and Michael Carrick will have to choose which direction he wants to go in.

The Slovenian has 10 goals this season, level with Bryan Mbeumo. Both have strong cases to start.
United could pick both Mbeumo and Sesko – this would mean dropping Amad.
It makes the decision over Sesko a two-pronged question. Should he start, and who should drop to the bench if he does?

Lisandro Martinez: In or out?
Manchester United have been given a welcome boost with Lisandro Martinez returning to first team training.
Harry Maguire is suspended for the fixture with Leeds following his red card against Bournemouth.
Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven are both available, and it would be a big show of trust from Carrick to select the young duo.
Martinez’s availability creates a dilemma. Carrick must pick two from three.
It’s one thing to select Martinez, but Carrick then has to work out which of Heaven and Yoro must be dropped.

Diogo Dalot or Noussair Mazraoui?
Diogo Dalot missed Manchester United’s training camp in Ireland due to illness.
Dalot will still be hopeful of recovering in time for United’s Monday night fixture at Old Trafford, having featured in 29 of 31 games so far this campaign.
Even if fully fit, there will be a dilemma, with Noussair Mazraoui competing for a starting right-back spot.
Mazraoui appears most likely right now – but Carrick is a big fan of Dalot and if he is fit, he will be under consideration.
