Liverpool officially sign Wolfsburg striker on free transfer

The remainder of the season will be decisive for Liverpool as the club look to shape their direction moving forward, with hopes of silverware appearing slim.

Arne Slot is under increasing pressure, with last weekend’s FA Cup exit compounding their struggles in the Premier League, while Paris Saint-Germain remain a major obstacle in the Champions League.

Regardless of how the final months unfold, Liverpool require a rebuild in the summer transfer window to strengthen multiple positions.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already confirmed they will leave at the end of the season, while links to forwards, midfielders and defenders continue to emerge ahead of the market reopening.

Elsewhere, Liverpool FC Women have reached an agreement to sign Vivien Endemann upon the expiry of her contract at VfL Wolfsburg.

A club statement read: “Liverpool FC Women have agreed a deal to sign Vivien Endemann on a free transfer when her contract at VfL Wolfsburg expires this summer. The 24-year-old forward will officially join the Reds on July 1, following three seasons with Wolfsburg.”

Endemann has earned 17 senior caps for Germany women’s national team, scoring three goals, and was part of the squad that won bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games.

She has registered three goals and three assists in eight Frauen-Bundesliga starts this season, and also scored in a 5-2 win over Manchester United Women in the Women’s Champions League in November. Endemann was also on target in Germany’s recent World Cup qualifying wins over Slovenia and Norway in March.

Her arrival represents a strong start to the summer for Liverpool FC Women, who have climbed away from the bottom of the Women’s Super League after a difficult start.

They are currently 10th, eight points above Leicester City Women, following an improved second half of the season and January additions.

Gareth Taylor’s side will also compete in the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals against Brighton & Hove Albion Women on May 10. Endemann previously spent two years with SGS Essen and SV Meppen before joining VfL Wolfsburg in 2023.
