West Ham are out of the relegation zone thanks to a rousing 4-0 win against Wolves. Konstantinos Mavropanos and Valentin Castellanos each scored twice to give Nuno Espirito Santo's side all three points at the London Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen was also influential by providing two assists, as the Irons leapfrogged Tottenham into 17th place. Spurs now find themselves in the bottom three for the first time this season, although they do have a game in hand away to Sunderland on Sunday.
It will be new Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi's first game in charge, having replaced Igor Tudor during the international break. And West Ham's victory has made De Zerbi's task even harder.
Mavropanos, who scored a vital equaliser to earn the Irons a 1-1 draw with Manchester City last month, broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute by heading in Bowen's cross. Wolves, who have faint hopes of survival themselves, attempted to get back on level terms before two goals in the space of three minutes from Castellanos in the second half put the game to bed.
The Argentine striker arrived from Lazio in January for £26million and now has five goals to his name. But it was centre-back Mavropanos who stole the headlines by scoring his second of the night from a Bowen corner, as he used his strength to bury home his team's fourth.
Wolves aren't mathematically relegated but find themselves 15 points adrift of safety with only six games to go. Nottingham Forest and Leeds will also be sweating after Friday's result.
Forest are now only above West Ham on goal difference while Leeds are just a point ahead. Forest host Aston Villa on Sunday before Leeds travel to Manchester United on Monday.

Mavropanos hailed the win as the 'perfect performance'. "These kind of wins give us a big boost for the rest of the season because we have been working really hard," the Greece international told Match of the Day.
"We got some really good results in the past games and today again we saw the great effort with our fans at home, clean sheet. I think it was a perfect performance.
"We said that we have to stay calm throughout the game because Wolves have some good players. We stuck together and scored the first goal and in the second half we saw more of our work and we scored more goals."
