Bayern Munich shut down talk of Michael Olise leaving

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has effectively shut the door on a potential summer departure for France international Michael Olise.

Despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool, the Bundesliga giants have no intention of parting ways with their prized attacking asset.

The message coming out of the Allianz Arena is clear and firm – Olise is not for sale. In a recent interview with Sky Germany, Eberl was asked directly about the Frenchman’s future following a wave of speculation linking him with moves to the Bernabeu and Anfield.

His response was brief and decisive, reinforcing Bayern’s stance and effectively ending hopes that rival clubs could lure the former Crystal Palace forward away this summer. Eberl also made clear that the club sees him as a key part of the squad being built under manager Vincent Kompany.

Eberl said: “No, simply no. Not the slightest possibility that we will let him go. We have a long-term project. Michael feels very comfortable. And you can see that the team can be successful.” He added: “If we play football like this, then there is no chance of anything else.”

Real Madrid have been the most frequently linked admirers of the 24-year-old, with some reports suggesting that club president Florentino Pérez would be prepared to sanction a major bid. It has even been claimed that the Spanish champions could offer up to €165million (£144m) to secure his signature.

However, Bayern remain unmoved by such figures. Internal discussions at the club reportedly concluded that even astronomical offers would not be enough to persuade them to sell.

Such a stance is rare in today’s transfer market, but it highlights just how highly Bayern value Olise and his importance to their long-term project.

With Mohamed Salah set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the Reds are reportedly exploring several attacking options, including Bayern Munich winger Olise.

Alongside RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré, and Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Olise is among the names on Liverpool’s shortlist to replace Salah.

Olise has enjoyed an impressive campaign at Bayern, registering 16 goals and 29 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
