Midfielder Tomáš Souček won a “battle of the Czechs” in English football’s Premier League on Friday night when his West Ham overcame the club of defender Ladislav Krejčí, Wolverhampton Wanderers, 4:0. The latter are in the relegation positions in the league table but Friday’s result leaves West Ham above the “drop zone”.
Souček holds the record for the most goals scored by a Czech in the Premier League, with 39. He was recently replaced as national team captain by Krejčí.
