Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.
Denzel Dumfries has declared he is committed to Inter Milan amid reported Newcastle United interest.
A busy summer is expected at St James’ Park - with incomings and outgoings aplenty. Kieran Trippier has already announced that he will leave the Magpies when his contract expires at the end of the season.
A prominent dressing-room figure and on-field leader, Trippier will leave big shoes to fill at right-back. Newcastle could need two players in that position as speculation surrounds Tino Livramento’s future.

Various outlets suggested Newcastle could make a play for Inter defender Dumfries. A seasoned international, the 29-year-old has earned 71 caps for the Netherlands since debuting in 2018.
Dumfries - who recently recovered from an ankle injury - has played in two Champions League finals and won the Serie A title. Capable of playing right-back or wing-back, he would be considered the ideal Trippier replacement.

However, the Inter stalwart has publicly stated his desire to stay at the San Siro now the injury woes are behind him. As it stands, Dumfries is contracted until 2028 and has been valued at around £25million.
“I have never had a physical problem like this in my career,” Dumfries told InterNews about his injury. “It was difficult because I needed surgery. But now I am very positive looking at the end of the season.
“We must win every match to win the Scudetto, that is our objective. Against Roma we played a great game. Now we have an important game at Como where we must win while playing well.
“I don’t look at Napoli or the other teams, only at Inter. We must work. Every game is a final. We want to win both trophies. I am very happy at Inter, it is like a family. My only thought is on winning trophies.”
