Sheffield Wednesday produced a brilliant defensive performance to earn a goalless draw against Championship table-toppers Coventry City on Saturday lunchtime.
Arriving at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Wednesday knew a victory for the home side would put them on the cusp of promotion to the Premier League. They went into the contest needing four points from their final five games to seal the deal.
However, Henrik Pedersen’s men defended heroically all afternoon to come away with a point, leaving the home supporters deeply frustrated.
The Owls also had chances of their own, the best of which fell to Jerry Yates, meaning it marked a very impressive away performance against the runaway Championship leaders, who won 5-0 at Hillsborough back in October.
