Liverpool was forced into a half-time change in Saturday's Premier League game against Fulham, with Curtis Jones replaced by Ryan Gravenberch.
Jones picked up a knock in the final stages of the first half at Anfield, and appeared to gesture towards his groin area after receiving on-field treatment.
He returned to the action and managed to limp through the final minutes of the opening 45, before making way at half-time.
A serious injury to Jones, who impressed against Fulham, would be a blow, but midfield is one position Arne Slot is not light of options. That was fact was underlined by the ability to turn to Gravenberch on the bench, while Alexis Mac Allister was also named among the substitutes.
Neither was needed as Liverpool eased into a commanding half-time lead, with Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah handing the Reds a 2-0 advantage at the interval.
Both finished smartly as they pushed inside and curled the ball into the far corner beyond Bernd Leno.
The 2-0 lead was rich reward for a dominant first-half showing. After the abject performances against Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain last week, this was more reminiscent of the Slot's first campaign on Merseyside.
Liverpool played with a freedom and intensity that has been lacking for the majority of the season, as it managed to sustain repeated attacks.
