But the visitors didn’t have it all their own way, with Burnley having two goals disallowed for the tightest of margins.

Jaidon Anthony scored what he thought was an early opener only to be denied by the offside flag, before Bashir Humphreys’ equaliser was ruled out in a similarly marginal decision.

“Offensively I think we played well, we created a lot of chances, we created a lot of danger, especially with the crosses, so therefore I think that we could score more goals.

“Overall, we were there in the key moments, we managed the game quite well, we controlled the game quite well.

“But of course also Burnley, they proved it in the last weeks and the last games, they have the quality to beat every team in the league.

“That's why I always emphasise that the Premier League is so competitive, there is no easy game, so the approach from us, the effort, was good.

“Not an easy game, not a perfect performance, but it's important to win these kind of games.”
