Liverpool have picked up three valuable points against Fulham in the Premier League, coming away from Anfield as comfortable winners.
It was long overdue. Liverpool were winless in the Premier League since the end of February and came into this tie with the knowledge that another disappointment would not be received well by the Anfield faithful.
They turned it on, playing the kind of exciting, free-flowing football we haven’t seen enough of this season. First-half strikes from Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah gave the Reds breathing room, and the second half was more of the same. A routine 2-0 win and a huge result for Arne Slot.
Who was Liverpool’s best player during the much-needed win over Fulham?
We think we might know the winner 😁

Liverpool player ratings vs Fulham
Giorgi Mamardashvili – 6
If Alisson Becker’s links to Juventus materialise into a summer move, Mamardashvili is showing why fans need not fret. Against PSG in midweek and again here, he looked solid and relaxed between the Liverpool posts.
Jeremie Frimpong – 7
Frimpong and Salah looked a far more effective one-two punch than what we have seen this season. They gave Antonee Robinson a torrid time, with the Dutchman’s overlapping and underlapping runs opening up the game. Solid on the defensive end, too.
Ibrahima Konate – 6
Konate had a pretty relaxed evening. Was there when he needed to be.
Virgil van Dijk – 6
Same can be said for Van Dijk, who marshalled Rodrigo Muniz effectively all game.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Andy Robertson – 7
Robertson’s Liverpool exit is approaching, making every game we see of the Scotsman one to savour. It was vintage Robbo against Fulham, streaking up and down the line all evening and getting in positions to threaten Berndt Leno’s goal.
Curtis Jones – 6
It was a shame to see Jones forced off at the break. He had been playing a great game alongside Dominik Szoboszlai in the Liverpool midfield, with the pair often covering at full-back to allow Frimpong and Kerkez to venture forward. Neat play.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 5
Not much to say about Szoboszlai. It was a solid all-around display.
Florian Wirtz – 7
Wirtz started slowly, but grew into the game. He made incisive pass after incisive pass, providing the playmaking we have been missing in recent weeks.
Mohamed Salah – 8
Slot was proven right about Salah and the decision to keep him on the bench during the week. He looked refreshed and motivated from the first whistle. The finish was exquisite, but his all-around game deserves praise — some of those passes were filthy.
Rio Ngumoha – 8
A beautiful strike and a fantastic performance from the teenager. Ngumoha dreams of replacing Salah as Liverpool’s No. 11, and that finish was vintage Mo — just from the other side.
Full-time! Three points for the first time in what feels like forever!

Cody Gakpo – 6
Gakpo isn’t who we expected to see leading the line, but it worked well. He took up some dangerous positions in the Fulham box and was unlucky not to grab himself a goal.
Substitutions
Ryan Gravenberch – 5
Gravenberch came on for Jones at the interval and didn’t miss a step.
Alexis Mac Allister – 6
Mac Allister loves scoring bangers against Fulham, but couldn’t add to his catalogue after coming on in the 69th minute. He played well.
Alexander Isak – 5
Isak is getting back up to speed and it was great to see him on the pitch at Anfield. It was, however, a quiet cameo from the Swede.
Joe Gomez – 5
Gomez came on for Frimpong and saw out the game.
Trey Nyoni – N/A
Injury time appearance.
