A record-breaking Rio Ngumoha shone for Liverpool in their 2-0 win at home to Fulham, with Mo Salah also marking his first appearance since announcing his exit.

Premier League (32) | Anfield

April 11, 2026

Goals: Ngumoha 36′, Salah 40′

Giorgi Mamardashvili – 7 (out of 10)

It took 31 minutes for Mamardashvili to have his first real involvement, palming away an Oscar Bobb shot well.

He was a spectator overall, with Fulham lacking a threat, and he continues to be a dependable understudy to Alisson.

A first clean sheet in eight games for the Georgian.

Jeremie Frimpong – 7

Back at right-back instead of wing-back, Frimpong was a lively presence.

His end product was hit-and-miss – a hallmark of his season – but he did well for one Salah chance and delivered a beautiful cross to Cody Gakpo.

Ibrahima Konate – 7

Konate needed to respond after a bad night against Paris Saint-Germain, and he largely did exactly that.

He used his pace and physicality well and came forward with the ball, and was generally more switched on than he has been.

Virgil van Dijk – 8

Van Dijk was near-faultless, showing more attacking thrust than usual as Liverpool dominated possession.

He made 13 defensive contributions and four headed clearances, marshalling the troops expertly when Fulham got on top.

In fairness to Van Dijk, he has often played this well this season; it’s just sporadic errors that have let him down.

Andy Robertson – 7

Robertson received a warm welcome days after announcing his Liverpool exit and he was good overall.

The ball fell perfectly to him in the first half, but his shot was tame, and he hit the target again before the break.

Still an excellent player at 32. He will be badly missed.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 7

Deployed in a deeper midfield role, Szoboszlai effectively went about his duties.

He showed the discipline that was needed as a No. 6, providing more legs than Alexis Mac Allister has all season.

Never stopped running and made a vital interception inside the penalty area.

Curtis Jones – 6

Jones was given a much-needed chance to shine, and, like Szoboszlai, he was more efficient than spectacular in the first half.

The 25-year-old completed an impressive 97 percent of his passes, but he suffered an injury right on the stroke of half-time.

He just can’t catch a break.

Mohamed Salah – 7

This was more like it, Mo!

Back in the team, Salah purred at Anfield, being denied by Bernd Leno and then bending an inch-perfect finish in the far corner to put Liverpool 2-0 up.

That seemed to give him so much confidence, and some superb passes could have led to a third goal.

Florian Wirtz – 6

This was another game where there were glimpses of Wirtz’s class, but you were left wanting a little more.

His touch in tight areas was a delight, but the end product is still eluding him, with one shot flying well over the bar.

Worked hard off the ball, making five recoveries.

Rio Ngumoha – 8 (Man of the Match)

What a talent this lad is.

Ngumoha was Liverpool’s biggest attacking threat, even prior to brilliantly curling home his first Anfield goal to become the Reds’ youngest-ever home goalscorer in the league.

He continued to shine after the interval – you have to wonder why on earth he hasn’t been playing more!

Cody Gakpo – 5

Gakpo went back to the central role that Jurgen Klopp often used him in, but he struggled to make an impact.

He did assist Salah for his goal, taking the ball down and showing good awareness, but overall he looked like a player searching for form.

Had to do better for the chance Frimpong created for him. A frustrating watch.

Overall Team Performance – 7

Substitutes

Ryan Gravenberch (on for Jones, 46′) – 6

Kept things ticking over, but still not the influence of last season.

Alexis Mac Allister (on for Wirtz, 68′) – 6

Played one lovely pass and fired wide in the same move – otherwise solid.

Alexander Isak (on for Ngumoha, 68′) – 6

Fairly quiet. Annoyed that Gakpo didn’t square to him for a tap-in.

Joe Gomez (on for Frimpong, 68′) – 6

One sloppy pass straight after coming on put Liverpool in trouble.

Trey Nyoni (on for Salah, 89′) – N/A

Subs not used: Woodman, Kerkez, Chiesa, Ekitike

Arne Slot – 7

Every game feels pivotal for Slot currently, and only a win felt acceptable against Fulham in order to ease the pressure on him.

His five changes made sense in terms of keeping the squad fresh and giving fringe players a chance, and the performance was much improved.

Granted Liverpool were losing their way before the opening goal, but defensively they looked more organised and kept their first home clean sheet in the league since New Year’s Day.

Next up is the visit of PSG on Tuesday – get past them in shock fashion and the pressure will really be eased, Arne!

The jury is still out, but this was a baby step in the right direction.
