Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's 91st-minute equaliser gave Everton a share of the spoils after Igor Thiago's double looked to give Brentford their first home win since January.
For Brentford, it was a second successive home game where they had thrown away a lead, and with Bournemouth and Brighton winning, it will have felt like a defeat having dominated the second-half.
To make matters worse, they have won just once at home in 2026, which was a 3-0 win over Sunderland on 7 January.

Brentford made the perfect start after just two minutes when Kevin Schade was taken down by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the penalty area.
Igor Thiago stepped up and was spot on as he beat the Everton goalkeeper from 12 yards to give Keith Andrews' side the lead after just three minutes.
The visitors gradually grew in to the contest with CaoimhĂn Kelleher making an excellent double save.
First the Brentford keeper denied Idrissa Gueye from distance, before denying Beto from close range.
The striker would make amends as he equalised for David Moyes' albeit in very controversial circumstances.
Gueye's cross found Beto who levelled proceedings, but Brentford's players were furious after Keane Lewis-Potter clearly had his shirt tugged by Jake O'Brien.

That did not deflate the hosts, who came close to taking the lead just before the break but for a Pickford double save.
Kevin Schade met Mathias Jensen's corner but saw his header tipped onto the bar, before Ouattara's follow-up was kept out.
Brentford started the second-half with far more intensity and came close to regaining the lead.
Jensen's free-kick was met by Nathan Collins, but his header hit the bar with Pickford beaten.
Everton suddenly burst in to life with Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall both being denied by Kelleher.
Brentford took the lead their second-half performance merited when Thiago expertly diverted Michael Kayode's cross-shot past Pickford to double Brentford's advantage.
However, they were denied right at the death as Dewsbury-Hall fired into the right-hand corner to give Moyes' side a point.
