Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has moved to explain why Toby Collyer and Lewis Koumas were not involved at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers went down 2-1 against Sheffield United in South Yorkshire, with a late comeback from the Blades cancelling out Oli McBurnie's early opener, following John Lundstram's red card.
City will be without Lundstram for the visit of Birmingham City next week now, but the hope is that Collyer will be able to return for that game.
The Manchester United loanee was City's best in the draw with Coventry City earlier this week, but given his recent injury history, the decision was taken to give him a rest this weekend. All being well, he should be fit enough to return to the action for City next week.
It remains to be seen whether Lewis Koumas will feature though, with the forward picking up an issue in the build up to the clash against Sheff United.
"Koumas felt his hamstring on Thursday in the training session and Toby, it was our together decision," Jakirovic said.
"He felt a little bit tired and we tried to spare him and avoid injury because he's had a lot of injuries in the past and it was the decision to drop him for this game."
The Tigers had to deal with more injury issues on Saturday too, as Cody Drameh hit the deck with around 20 minutes on the clock. The right-back looked to be ready to continue, but the decision was made to bring him off.

"He felt pain in his quad," the head coach added. "So we'll see after his medical check what is the damage.
"I didn't ask him but it's the same quad that he had problems with I don't know how many weeks ago. We will see, we are used to this, we are losing one player per game."
Fortunately for City, Ryan Giles is due to return to training on Monday and he could be fit enough to take Drameh's spot in the back line, should the full-back be ruled out.
