Chris Sutton says Everton are a striker away from being a top team
As it stands, Everton are just a few points behind their Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who occupy a Champions League spot.
So, there is a genuine chance of qualifying for Europe’s most elite competition, however, Sutton explains that Beto will hold them back in that quest.
“Everton are a really balanced team. David Moyes’ teams have always have been, but there is more attacking intent this season,” the pundit told BBC Sport.

“Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish even though he has been out for a while. They just lack a centre-forward.
“I know Beto scored this afternoon, but a top-class centre-forward and they would be even higher up.
“But that fact they are even in with a chance of Champions League football is enormous for them.”
For the Toffees to be in with a shout of finishing in the top five without a striker who’s scored more than seven league goals shows what an excellent job Moyes has done.
The Scotsman has already made signing a centre-forward a top priority this summer transfer window, with Atletico Madrid frontman Alexander Sorloth linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott is also believed to be on Everton’s radar after his sensational season in the Dutch league.
