Andy Robertson has reacted to the reception he received at Anfield on Saturday, following the announcement of his Liverpool exit.
The Scot will depart the Reds after nine magical years at the end of the season, leaving as possibly the greatest left-back in the club’s history.
Robertson started Liverpool’s 2-0 win at home to Fulham in the Premier League, producing a typically solid performance and getting a seven-out-of-10 rating from This Is Anfield.
Speaking alongside player of the match Rio Ngumoha on Sky Sports, the 32-year-old discussed the love he received from the fans, making it clear how much the club means to him.
“I knew my song would probably get sung a couple of times,” Robertson said.
“This club means everything to me, it’s a fact. I’ve been here nine years. I was a boy one time.
“He [Ngumoha] might not believe me but I was!

“I was young one time and now I became a man here. Look, this club’s made me who I am today, so I owe them a lot.
“I’m just going to try to enjoy and embrace every minute I’m at this football club. When I get the start, then I just try to enjoy it.
“Thankfully, the win was the most important [thing] and a clean sheet is nice to go with it.”
A figure almost impossible for Liverpool to replace

Robertson isn’t the force he was as a footballer in his peak years, but Liverpool are still losing a huge figure this summer.
Few could have predicted such a meteoric rise when he joined for just £8 million from Hull in 2017, coming in as a relatively low-key signing.
But Robertson grew into the world’s best left-back under Jurgen Klopp, winning the Champions League and Premier League, and his quality, consistency and leadership will all be so hard to replace.
Milos Kerkez is an impressive left-back who has grown as the season has gone on, but if he can have even half the impact of Robertson, he will have had a good Liverpool career.
The Scotland captain will depart as one of the most influential figures of the past decade at Anfield, both on and off the pitch.
There are sure to be tears when he and Mohamed Salah salute the Kop one final time in May.
