Manchester United will host arch-rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford in the Premier League tomorrow evening.
The Red Devils had been on a three-week break due to international football and FA Cup games.
They spent four days in the Republic of Ireland on an intensive training camp.
The 25-man United squad travelled to Dublin without Diogo Dalot as he was ill.
United head coach Michael Carrick has now provided a fresh update on his availability for tomorrow’s clash.
He said (via ManUtd channel on YouTube): “Yeah he is okay and back with the group. That’s another positive as well.”
Diogo Dalot expected to start vs Leeds
The 27-year-old is the second longest-serving player in the current United squad.
Dalot moved to Old Trafford from Porto for a fee of £19 million in 2018.
He has been criticised heavily for his inconsistency but deserves applause for his availability and contributions.
Dalot has played 29 times in the Premier League this season, netting one goal and providing three assists.
He has played a right-back, right centre-back, right wing-back and left wing-back this term.
There is no doubt that Carrick really trusts Dalot and sees him as one of the leaders of this team. Former managers Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag had the same perspective.
Dalot could play a crucial role against Leeds United.
Benjamin Sesko could return to the starting XI after netting five goals in the last 10 games.
Dalot possesses the ability to whip crosses into the box. He needs to do it more regularly when Sesko is in the box as the towering centre-forward could prove to be deadly in the air.
