To think, this is supposedly a bit of an underwhelming season for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen.
And while there is certainly an argument that the skipper has fallen occasionally short of the sky-high standards set in previous campaigns, Jarrod Bowen’s class is – and will forever be – permanent.
One week after that most unexpected of penalty misses in the FA Cup quarter-final, Bowen made amends with a statement performance in a statement win. The captain assisted Konstantinos Mavropanos and Taty Castellanos as the duo hit a brace apiece in a 4-0 crushing of Wolves at the London Stadium.

In doing so, Jarrod Bowen moved to within one of 20 goal contributions in a West Ham United shirt in 2025/26.
Reports of his demise, it appears, have been greatly exaggerated.

In all competitions, Bowen has ten goals and nine assists. This means that he has recorded at least 18 goal contributions in every single season from 2021/22 onwards.
He mustered 31 that year. A further 21 arrived the following campaign, overshadowing what was a relatively below-par Premier League season with the winner in the Conference League final.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
Bowen then recorded 30 goal contributions in 2023/24 and 24 in 2025/26, despite the ill-fated reigns of Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter.
In fact, since the start of 2021/22, Bowen has racked up no fewer than 125 goals or assists. This season alone, Bowen sits ahead of Bryan Mbeumo, Cole Palmer and co in the league standings.
Only the post denied him a ninth top-flight goal of the current season against rock-bottom Wolves.
Where does the skipper rank among our biggest Premier League LEGENDS?
Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United celebrates opening the scoring during the Premier League match between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on January 31, 2026 in London, England.
To quote a spokesman for the West Ham board, Bowen ‘looked back to his brilliant best’ against Rob Edwards’ side. As Nuno welcomes back Crysencio Summerville, as two-goal Taty Castellanos finds form again, the stars may be aligning in East London.
“The result gives us some hope and great for the goal difference too!” a senior West Ham spokesman told Hammers News.
“We are hopeful now. There is a feeling eight points [can secure survival] but we just have to aim to try and win every game.
“Jarrod looked back to his brilliant best.”
