Liverpool Transfer Shock As Key Player (Who Has Made 332 Appearances) Says 'Yes' To Joining Another Club

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has given “a first important yes” to joining Juventus this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that the Serie A club have held initial talks with the Brazilian international’s camp, and they received positive signals that he would be interested in a move back to Italy.

Alisson joined the Reds from Roma in the summer of 2018. He had been managed by Luciano Spalletti at the Giallorossi, who is now in charge of Juve.

It appears as if Liverpool’s No. 1 is open to a new challenge, with there now being a prospect of him leaving Anfield after eight years, having made 332 appearances to date.

Why is Alisson seeking a move?

The 33-year-old is believed to see the writing on the wall. Gazzetta claim the signing of Giorgi Marmadashvili is a sure sign that Liverpool are planning for Alisson’s departure, and the Brazilian is not blind to the fact that the Georgian is being groomed to take over from him.

While Alisson has seen his contract extended until next year, it is felt that the club’s decision was purely to do with protecting the keeper’s value so he could not leave on a free transfer this summer.

It’s the end of an era at Liverpool

If Alisson follows Mo Salah and Andy Robertson by leaving Merseyside at the end of the season, we are on the cusp of a significant changing of the guard.

Head coach Arne Slot even hinted before the Fulham game that the squad is in the process of being ripped up, stating a new “cycle” is set to begin.

Of course, it is debatable whether Slot himself will be involved in how the club develops beyond this season, but it appears more changes to the first-team squad are inevitable.
