'Definitely': Jason Cundy predicts what PSG will have been thinking after watching Liverpool yesterday

Liverpool got a comfortable win over Fulham on Saturday, but there were aspects of the performance that PSG will look at as encouraging ahead of their trip to Anfield.

There’s no time to revel in the victory against Fulham, with a crucial Champions League second leg fast approaching. Liverpool can be encouraged for PSG by the fact that they got three points, but it’s still a hefty ask.

Jason Cundy congratulated Liverpool on the win, but made it clear that the French outfit will take encouragement of their own from the display, and how easy it was for the visitors to create openings in the Reds’ defence.

Who was Liverpool’s best player during the much-needed win over Fulham?

We think we might know the winner 😁

PSG will back themselves to score after watching Liverpool vs Fulham

As routine a win as it was for the home side, it didn’t come easy. Fulham had 19 attempts on goal with four on target, finding no trouble creating openings in the Liverpool defence.

Appearing on talkSPORT, Cundy voiced his concerns over PSG coming to Anfield and doing the same.

He explains: “If I was PSG and I saw the chances that Fulham created, I’d go in there thinking, yeah, we might concede, but we definitely score.”

If you’ve watched Liverpool this season, you’ll find it hard to refute that claim from Cundy. He does, however, leave room for a shock result if things go in our favour.

He remarks: “Never say never. Never say never. If they get the first goal midweek and there’s a decision, I said to you a red card. We saw it with Barcelona against Atleti in the Champions League. A red card can change the course of a game.

“From what I’ve seen there and I agree, I think Fulham will be disappointed that they didn’t come away with something. Liverpool were unconvincing, but the scoreline says they were comfortable without being comfortable.”

There’s a reason the Champions League is such a magical competition. It’s because anything can happen in these knockout games.

Do you still think Liverpool can turn the quarter-final around at Anfield?

No one knows that better than Liverpool, who have mounted some of the most incredible comebacks we have seen in the competition. Sure, PSG are rested thanks to the Lens postponement, and they will smell the opportunity to punish the defence early and kill the tie.

But there’s also every chance Liverpool can pull something out of the bag and send shockwaves around Europe. They will have to be better behind the ball, though.
