Thousands enjoy 2026 Brighton Marathon

Thousands of people have been enjoying the final day of the Brighton Marathon Weekend today.

More than 14,000 people were starting the centrepiece event of the weekend, the Brighton Marathon, starting in Preston Park, threading through the city and then along the world-famous seafront, past iconic landmarks such as the Palace Pier and Brighton i360.

England Rugby World Cup winner Jess Breach was the official starter and got the marathon participants under way.

Despite blustery conditions, thousands of spectators were lining the streets to cheer on those taking part including at community cheer zones and the brand new Pride Promenade - a dedicated stretch of the route celebrating the city’s LGBTQIA+ community
