Jarrod Bowen’s remarkable form for West Ham United when the going gets tough should not pass England head coach Thomas Tuchel by.
Despite his importance to the cause at West Ham United, captain Bowen remains a fringe player with England.
Where does the skipper rank among our biggest Premier League LEGENDS?
Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United celebrates opening the scoring during the Premier League match between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on January 31, 2026 in London, England.
While he’s not an absolute certainty for England’s World Cup squad, it would not be much of a surprise to see him travel to the tournament, play almost no part, and then come home again.
That, frankly, would be a crying shame.
Though Tuchel clearly has a lot of compelling options out on the right hand side of the attack, none of them have the experience that Bowen does in digging his team out of an almighty hole.
All of Bowen’s goal contributions have come with West Ham in the relegation zone this season
Not only has Bowen scored more Premier League goals than his direct competitors in the form of Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke this season, he’s also doing it while the pressure is on.
While Arsenal fans are currently demanding from their attacking players during a difficult run in their season, Bowen continues to step up when West Ham need him most.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES
As per the Premier League’s official data, all 16 of Bowen’s direct goal involvements this season (eight goals, eight assists) have come while West Ham have started the day in the bottom three.
That’s only the sixth time that has happened in Premier League history, with former West Brom star Mateus Pereira the last to get so many.

Though England are one of the favourites for the tournament, there will be times where they need to dig deep and pull something out of the fire.
Bowen is well-versed in such situations, perhaps more so than any of the other attackers in England contention given they generally play for teams higher up the league.
Tuchel wants more from England’s attacking players and Bowen is one of few options answering that call.
Indeed, Bowen surely deserves more than a bit-part role at best.
