Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has warnedEverton‘s Premier League rivals not to count the Toffees out, after he rescued a late point against Brentford on Saturday.

Indeed, it was a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium that could well turn out to be a vital one when it’s all said and done this season.

Everton weren’t at their best against Brentford, but showed the kind of character that is required to win a European spot for next term, coming back from a goal down on two occasions.

It also ensured that David Moyes‘ side keep their positive momentum ahead of the Merseyside derby next Sunday, which is perhaps the biggest renewal of the fixture in terms of possible league table ramifications.

So, with now just six games to go for Everton, there is continued belief and optimism that this group can play European football next season for the first time since 2017-18.

What did Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall say after Everton vs Brentford?

Dewsbury-Hall is confident Everton will qualify for Europe this season, and has put pressure on his comrades by recently claiming that the team “won’t have done ourselves justice” if they don’t.

It’s a bold statement to make, but it sums up the confidence levels that are coursing through the veins of this team at the moment.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has been superb this season, with his form being a key reason as to why Moyes’ men are in the position they find themselves in the run-in.

He took his 91st-minute goal against Brentford extremely well too, driving a low left-footed effort into the bottom right corner to send the away end bonkers.

Everton will need him at his brilliant best again when Liverpool come to Hill Dickinson Stadium next Sunday, and posting to his Instagram account after Brentford, he’s already licking his lips for that one.

“Don’t count us out… see ya next week,” said Everton’s number 22, firing a clear warning to the Toffees’ Premier League rivals that this is a team that can’t be written off, and don’t know when they’re beaten.

Dewsbury-Hall can unpick shaky Liverpool defence

Liverpool are not the same animal they were last season in 2025-26, with Arne Slot’s side battling to even finish in the top four after winning the Premier League last term.

Their 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday did snap a three-game losing run in all competitions, but even so, they’ve still shipped eight goals in their last four games.

Liverpool’s centre-back pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have been very hit and miss this season, and a player of Dewsbury-Hall’s playmaking ability in the 10 should be confident of unpicking that lock.

Everton haven’t beaten Liverpool in the Premier League since 24 April 2024, but at Hill Dickinson Stadium in what will almost be two years to the date of that win, they’ve not had a better chance since.
