Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe made some drastic changes to his team sheet for the clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Howe, needing a win to ease the pressure on himself after losing to Sunderland, stuck with Aaron Ramsdale between the posts for the encounter against the Eagles. Sven Botman was patched up and put back into the starting line-up after a facial injury suffered against the Wearsiders, albeit he will don a protective mask this afternoon.
Malick Thiaw was named alongside him in the heart of defence, with Dan Burn benched, while he was joined by Germany international Nick Woltemade. Lewis Miley, back from a thigh injury was in the starting XI, while Jacob Murphy was named captain and started on the right-hand side of a three-man attack.
William Osula was named in attack with Woltemade overlooked both in attack and in midfield. Kieran Trippier was also left out of the team with Tino Livramento at right-back, just days after Trippier announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Miley's return was a massive boost for Newcastle, while the club website explained Howe's reasoning for a stellar list on the bench.
It read: "Howe has a number of attacking options to deploy from the bench if required, including Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and Harvey Barnes, who was on target in United's 5-0 home win against the South London outfit last season.
"Anthony Elanga, who netted a first-half brace in United's UEFA Champions League trip to FC Barcelona, is also named on the bench as well as Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock."
Newcastle: Ramsdale; Livramento, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Miley, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Osula, Gordon.
Subs: Pope, Trippier, Burn, Woltemade, Wissa, Barnes, Elanga, Willock, Ramsey
