Liverpool secured a vital 2-0 win over Fulham in the battle for Champions League qualification, cementing their grip on fifth position ahead of Chelsea's encounter with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Liam Rosenior's outfit lie four points adrift in sixth, having played one match fewer than Arne Slot's squad.

Rio Ngumoha netted his second Premier League strike of the campaign on only his second top-flight start, curling a finish beyond Bernd Leno after cutting inside from the left in the opening period. Mohamed Salah then extended Liverpool's advantage before half-time with a clinical finish.

It was the Egyptian's first outing at Anfield since announcing last month that he will depart the club at the conclusion of the current season. The 33-year-old was left out in the 2-0 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Paris on Wednesday.
