Nottingham Forest's Vitor Pereira and Neco Williams react to Tottenham losing to Sunderland

Nottingham Forest held Aston Villa to a score draw at the City Ground.

The crucial point has actually moved Nottingham Forest three points clear of the relegation zone with six games to go.

Vitor Pereira’s side came back from behind in the clash, showing great resilience and mentality, which are much-needed traits in a relegation battle.

Tottenham Hotspur, on the other hand, don’t seem to possess those same characteristics, as they fell to yet another defeat on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs lost 1-0 to Sunderland in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge, leaving them in the relegation zone.

With that said, Pereira and Neco Williams were asked about that result post-match.

Pereira responded: “The spirit I want to see in my team is the intention to get points everywhere, home and away.

“We need to fight. This is what we did today. It’s not possible to suffer with results of other teams. I don’t like to see the games. I prefer to focus on my team.”

Williams was also asked the same question, and he replied: “You don’t want to look at the table too much because you want to focus on yourself.

“It’s hard not to with the position we are in. It’s a good point and we need to build on that.

“Every game for us now is a cup final. Every point is so important. We need to build and carry on with this momentum.”

The Forest dressing room will no doubt be keeping tabs on their relegation rivals, but it’s important to remain focused on their own task.

The Tricky Trees certainly aren’t out of it just yet, although they have a great opportunity to put further distance between them and the bottom three next weekend, as they host Burnley.
