Celtic are looking to sign Andy Robertson on a free transfer this summer, with the defender set to leave Liverpool when his contract expires.
Robertson has confirmed he will exit Anfield at the end of the campaign, despite holding talks about a new contract with owners FSG, saying: "There have been discussions all season. Last summer I was close to having a decision to make and I decided to stay. It was the same in January. It was more a discussion with the club and it was an open and honest conversation.
"I've always said I've had an amazing relationship with the owners and people like that. It was just a sit-down with my wife to see what we wanted next and obviously we'll see where we go, but it's important to end this story and we'll see whatever comes next."
The left-back is well-known to be a boyhood Celtic fan, famously being released in 2009, having been deemed too small, although he has gone on to have a stellar career, playing a major role in Liverpool's success during the Jurgen Klopp era.
Having only turned 32 last month, the defender may still have a lot left to give, and there have been suggestions he could be set to remain in the Premier League, with new Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi keen to take him to north London.
A verbal agreement has been reached over a move to Spurs, although they will need to retain their Premier League status to get over the line, and De Zerbi's side are still very much in a relegation dogfight.
Celtic plotting move for Andy Robertson
As such, a return to Parkhead could still be on the cards, according to a report from TEAMtalk, which states Celtic are vying to sign Robertson, but there could be fierce competition for his signature, with Spurs and Hull City also plotting moves.

As things stand, the Scot remains keen on a move to Tottenham, and there is a suggestion he could consider joining even if the Lilywhites are playing in the Championship next season.
That said, should Celtic manage to pip the Premier League side to the experienced full-back's signature, he would arrive in Glasgow with a wealth of top-level experience, lifting nine trophies with Liverpool and making 66 Champions League appearances.
Chris Sutton is a big fan of Robertson too, and backed him to succeed north of the border earlier this season, saying: “Robertson has that experience and has that quality and has that know-how.

“So, I think at 32 (he turns that in March), he could stroll back to Scotland.
“And I’m not saying that he will necessarily find it easy all the time, but he’s too much quality for if he came available.”
Liverpool content creator Sajad Iqbal has described the 92-cap Scotland international as "relentless" and the "ultimate winner", but the Hoops signing him could cause a selection dilemma, given that they already have Kieran Tierney on the books at left-back.
A return to Glasgow could pull on the Liverpool legend's heartstrings, given that he has spoken very fondly of Parkhead, saying: "The atmosphere is incredible. It's very similar to Anfield and I'd love the rest of them to experience it in there."
However, the boyhood Celtic fan may have to take a wage cut, given that he currently rakes in a whopping £160k-a-week at Anfield.
