Everton fans are still waiting to see what Seamus Coleman will do with his contract winding down – but David Moyes made a rather interesting comment about his captain yesterday.
The veteran full-back currently stands to leave the club at the end of the current season.
Seamus Coleman, who joined Everton in 2009, has been a tremendous servant to the club, and it may well be that these are his final months as a player.
Do you think Seamus Coleman still has something to offer Everton on the pitch? 🤔
It was a mighty performance vs Czech Republic from him 👏

It has regularly been suggested that Coleman could stay on at Everton in some other capacity.
The idea of a coaching role has been floated, which would see him follow in the footsteps of Leighton Baines.
But it’s possible we are getting ahead of ourselves, after what David Moyes said yesterday after the draw with Brentford.

Everton fans recently suggested that a coaching role would be better for Coleman, with the player now 37 years of age.

Moyes spoke after yesterday’s game and again suggested how much he would love to keep hold of Coleman even if that wasn’t as a player.
But the Scot may have dropped a potential hint, because he stated that Coleman is actually ‘not big’ on the idea of coaching at the moment.
He said in his post-match press conference: “It’s stuff for another day really. But Seamus is actually not mad on the coaching at the moment.
Now that might change. You know, sometimes when you’re a player you don’t really (know). But he’s made contributions, I certainly believe he’ll be able to be a big part of Everton going forward, in a role which we’ll try and find which we think will suit his character and personality.
“Even if it was involved in being around the younger players at the club, near enough to keep standards high. Because he’s someone who demands high standards from all the senior players, whether it be on or off the pitch.
“He’s someone who’s done a brilliant job over recent seasons especially.”
This admission is interesting to consider, especially because Coleman does actually have his coaching badges already.
Coleman may want another year as a player at Everton
It’ll be really fascinating to see what happens with Coleman in the coming months.
Moyes made it sound as though the player might actually feel like he’s got one more season in him as a player.
And given how much time he’s spent on the sidelines in the last few years with injury, he couldn’t be blamed for that.
Coleman may have shown he still has something to offer, after he impressed for the Republic of Ireland during the international break.
