"An agreement in principle with Klopp": Bombshell report breaks over Klopp's future

Fresh speculation surrounding Jurgen Klopp has surfaced, with reports suggesting the former Liverpool manager could yet be tempted into a return to management, potentially with Real Madrid.

This is bad news for those fans who held onto hope that Klopp could ever return to management at Liverpool.

According to claims emerging from Spanish outlet Defensa Central and journalist Ángel Torquemada, an agreement in principle has already been discussed between Klopp and figures connected to Real Madrid, although several major conditions would need to be met before any move could materialise.

The report states: “Nothing is finalised, but there is an agreement in principle between Anas Laghrari, who wields considerable power behind the scenes, and Jürgen Klopp , for him to officially become Real Madrid’s next coach next season .

“The agreement in principle already has a foundation, with conditions and demands set by the German manager. These would involve the signing of two proven defenders, two proven midfielders, and Erling Haaland.”

Jurgen Klopp: "No, no, no, no, no. Or should I say not yet, because I still have time, since I heard Roy Hodgson [still managing at 78 years old] *laughs*

..But no, at the moment no. I do… pic.twitter.com/oKQHNG5vlu

This would bring an end to speculation between Liverpool and Klopp

While it was always a very slim possibility, this would bring a swift end to any possibility of Klopp managing Liverpool again.

Recent whispers in the media have linked Klopp with an emotional return to Anfield amid Arne Slot’s failures at Liverpool. The Dutch coach is heavily linked with an exit from the club this summer, having overseen 17 defeats in his second season at the helm.

Despite winning the Premier League last season, Liverpool have slipped dramatically from grace to a point where they are no longer guaranteed to finish in the Champions League qualifying positions this season.

Failure to qualify for the European competition would almost certainly mean the end of his time at Liverpool, although recent reports have cast doubt over what FSG will do in the summer.

Xabi Alonso is available and has been strongly linked with a return of his own to Liverpool, although it’s seemingly too early to predict what will happen.

The Spaniard would be an interesting choice for FSG, given his history as an iconic figure in the 2005 Istanbul miracle, his history with Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong on Germany and his preference for beautiful, dominant football that is lacking on Merseyside.
